Santee Sioux Beaded Scout Jacket

Santee Sioux or Dakota Beaded Scout Jacket. Circa 1880. Beaded on hide with a front flap. Early trade buttons. Very small early seed beads. Most of the red silk around the flap is gone. I saw this jacket over 20 years ago and finally just bought it. Minor beadwork damage, but I can easily have my conservator replace missing beads with period beads.  Great patina and well used. The inside of the right side of the front chest is a double row of cloth shell holders for a hunter. This was done some time at a later date. A wonderful example of a real used Scout Jacket.
